Team Dynamo returned to friendly action this past weekend, but were unable to prevent a 4-1 loss to Vanguard at Westwood Secondary School. Vanguard bagged the first goal early in the game despite suspicions of off-side and Edwin's clumsy chested ball flew beyond the reach of his goalkeeper and allowed the Vanguard forward an easy tap-in for his side's second. The first-half ended in favour of the opposition. Vanguard made it 3-0 in the second half when their forward headed in a cross at the backpost. Si Thu pulled one back after substitute Jia Chuan put him through on goal. Vanguard sealed their victory late in the game after their midfielder blasted home a left-foot shot from just inside the penalty box. Team Dynamo line-up: Kian Leong(GK), Wei Liang, Edwin, Kenneth, Dave, Calvin, Wen Bin, Eugene, Jun Wen, Jaryl, Si Thu. Substitutes: Jia Chuan, Yong Lun, Aaron, Shannon, Javier, Hiroki.
Team Dynamo 4-0 Rebels United
In the final game of the SSFC Invitational League, Team Dynamo defeated 9-man Rebels United to clinch 2nd place. Rebels United could only start the game with 7 players due to a shortage of players, leaving Team Dynamo with a 4-man advantage throughout the first half. But the scores remained at 0-0 at the half-time break after the Dynamo players failed to convert a couple of chances. Rebels United brought on another 2 players during the break to make it 9 on the field, but Eugene gave Dynamo the lead with a cross which flew into the net. Rebels United were given a life-line soon after when Edwin appeared to have brought the Rebels forward down in the penalty area. But the Rebels No. 10 blasted high over the bar to ensure Dynamo stayed in the lead. Si Thu scored twice in quick succession to triple the team's lead before Jaryl rounded off the scoring. The win gave Team Dynamo its first win in the league and on 4 points, leapfrogged Schwarz Star FC into second place. The team's next match will be against Team Kaitai on 27th December(Saturday), 3pm at Westwood Secondary School. Team Dynamo line-up: Kian Leong(GK), Yong Lun, Eugene, Kenneth, Dave, Jun Wen, Aaron, Edwin, Jaryl, Jia Chuan, Si Thu. Substitute: Shannon.
Team Dynamo 2-3 AMG
After two weeks of trainings, Dynamo notched up a credible score against AMG, losing out only by a single goal at Jurong Junior College. With virtually a makeshift back four, Dynamo moved on to play a more defensive game, with only Si Thu as the lone striker, choosing to attack only on the break. This strategy worked in favour of Dynamo, who took the lead after an error by the AMG defence which resulted in a free kick for Dynamo, in which Si Thu duly scored after Jun Wen’s lay off. AMG fought back and managed to even up the play at 1-1, finally taking the lead just before half time, despite the equalizer having a hint of offside. The second half was dominated by both sides, with both parties opting to attack only on the counter. Despite Dynamo losing both Redhwan and Pravin in the second half, Dynamo managed to reorganise, shifting Jaryl in between the posts, while Jun Wen, Eugene Chan and Calvin boast the centre of the park. AMG made the score 3-1 early in the second half, but with Dynamo’s persistence and determination, Jun Wen managed to reduce the deficit with a sublime strike on the right side of the penalty area, making it a tense end for AMG. Next match will be against Rebels United on 6th December, 3pm at Queensway Secondary School. Team Dynamo line-up: Redhwan(GK) Yong Lun, Eugene Chan, Kenneth, Wen Bin, Eugene Ng, Aaron, Jaryl, Pravin, Jun Wen, Si Thu. Substitutes: Jia Chuan, Shannon, Calvin, Hiroki.
Team Dynamo 1-8 MY Football Club
Team Dynamo struggled against a talented MY Football Club side yesterday in their second league game as they lost 8-1 at Si Ling Secondary School. The loss condemns Team Dynamo to 4th and bottom of the table, with Schwarz Star FC in 3rd but only on goal difference. The Falcons lost 2-1 to Rebels United who took second spot. Team Dynamo got off to a disastrous start, conceding 5 goals in the first half with the first 3 coming from goalmouth scrambles. Si Thu did pull one back close to half-time when he slotted into the bottom corner. The second half saw a better performance from the team but still was not enough as MY Football Club bagged another 3. The loss is a steep learning curve for the team but with 3 more weeks to go before the final league game against Rebels United, there is still time to work something out. Team Dynamo can still finish second if they beat Rebels United and MY Football Club beats Schwarz Star FC in the final round of games on 6th December. For players, we will be training for the next 2 weekends before possibly playing a friendly match on the last week of November. The game against Rebels United will be on 6th December, 3pm at Queensway Secondary School. Team Dynamo line-up: Redhwan(GK), Wei Liang, Kenneth, Eugene, Yanto, Calvin, Jun Wen, Dave, Jia Chuan, Si Thu, Jaryl. Substitutes: Aaron, Pravin, Yong Lun, Shannon, Edwin.
Team Dynamo 2-2 Schwarz Star FC
Team Dynamo and Schwarz Star FC kicked off the SSFC Invitational League with a creditable 2-2 draw as they shared the spoils on the opening day of the league. With 17 players available for this game, Team Dynamo put on a show of determination, unity and resilience as they fought hard throughout against a side older and more experienced. Debutant Dave Jong put in a stellar performance at right-back while Yanto also had a solid game at left-back. After weeks of intense training, all the hardwork looked to have paid off when Jaryl put the team ahead with barely 5 minutes on the clock. The forward was on hand to score Team Dynamo's 50th goal when he slotted in the rebound after the Falcons' goalkeeper could only punch Si Thu's shot into his path. The team continued to put up strong resistance against the Falcons who were threatening down the flanks through their speedy wingers. New addition Dave though contained the left winger while Calvin constantly tracked the runs of the opposing right winger to great effect. Si Thu had a free-kick which he lashed at goal, only for the goalkeeper to turn it round the post. The game looked to be heading for the half-time break in favour of Team Dynamo when Schwarz Star replied through a corner which their striker tapped in from close range. Both teams entered the break level at 1-1. There were changes for Team Dynamo at half-time, as the team switched to a makeshift strike partnership consisting of Hakim and Pravin while Aaron and Hiroki also came on at left-midfield and right-midfield respectively. With two thirds of the game gone, Schwarz Star took the lead after their striker latched onto a through ball and slotted under goalkeeper Redhwan to give the Falcons a 2-1 lead. Team Dynamo made changes immediately, bringing back on Jaryl and Dave to add some firepower upfront. The team took some time to settle, but the reply eventually came. A free-kick was floated into the box by Edwin and met by centre-back Eugene who headed behind and into goal, beyond the despairing reach of the Falcons goalkeeper. Both teams continued to slug it out, but could not find a way through as they settled for a 2-2 draw. The draw leaves Team Dynamo with a point and joint 2nd in the table as MY Football Club kickstarted their campaign with a 2-1 win over Rebels United. The team will play Rebels United next Saturday at Si Ling Secondary School at 3pm. Team Dynamo line-up: Redhwan(GK), Yanto, Eugene, Kenneth, Dave, Calvin, Jun Wen, Edwin, Jia Chuan, Si Thu, Jaryl. Substitutes: Pravin, Hakim, Aaron, Hiroki, Yong Lun, Shannon.
Slight change to SSFC League
There is a very minor change to the SSFC League. Tampines Youngsters FC have renamed themselves, they are now called MY Football Club. The name change will not affect the fixtures whatsoever. The change has been reflected in the relevant pages on this website.
SSFC Invitational League Fixtures
The draw for the SSFC Invitational League took place yesterday and they are now out on the Fixtures list and on the SSFC League page. Our games have all been drawn at 3pm. For furthur information on the fixtures, please check the relevant pages.
Team News
Slight changes have been made to the venues for the SSFC Invitational League. The first game will take place at Fu Chun Secondary School whereas the remaining 2 games will be held at Si Ling Secondary School. The draw for the competition will take place in 2 days' time. As for our new jerseys, it has been put on hold for now because of the cost of the league fees along with the upcoming team chalet. Our traditional year-end chalet stay is almost confirmed. As always, it will take place at NSRCC but not at Bungalow #25 anymore. The dates are 17th-19th December (Wednesday to Friday) and our bungalow will be located poolside. Apparently, some upgrades and improvements have been made to the bungalows. To players, please start saving around $60 for the chalet. This is a rough estimate and depending on the number of people going, the price may vary. For those of you who want to subsidise payment with your team fund, please inform me.
SSFC Invitational League Details
Details for next month's 4-team invitational are out. The other 3 teams will be organisers Schwarz Star FC, Rebels United and Tampines Youngsters FC. Schwarz Star FC are a pretty established team formed back in 2004. They have no league experience but have qualified coach Kenneth Kwan to count on. The Falcons train regularly at their home base located at Alexandra Hospital. Rebels United are currently third in the Playsports League, their second season in the amateur football division. They finished fourth in their first season. With their experience, the Rebels will be tough to beat. The final team, Tampines Youngsters FC, greatly resembles us with a pretty low average age in their squad. The youngest player on their roster is only 15 years of age, but the team is already playing in the Playsports League and the more prestigious ESPZEN Saturday League, mixing with the likes of Team Orange on a regular basis. The players, who hail from the Tampines region, will be no strangers to Rebels United, having played them in the Playsports League. They are currently bottom of the Playsports League, but are backed by sponsors Innotest Pte Ltd and Hong Hua Guan Marine & Engineering Pte Ltd. With coach Gulam Jailani at the helm, they will be looking to stave off the bottom of the invitational league. The draw for the competition will take place on 12th October at 5pm. Games are expected to take place at Fuchun and Orchid Park Secondary School. We are arguably the most inexperienced team in this competition, but it will provide us with very good exposure. To players, we will be resuming training on 1st October(Wednesday). It is a public holiday and the session will probably take place in the afternoon. Do remember to bring $20 for the payment of the league fees. Payment for jersey has been put on hold temporarily until the league fees have been settled.
Schwarz Star FC Invitational League 2008
Details of the invitational league have been confirmed. 4 teams will be involved in a round-robin schedule, with each team playing 3 games. Winner of the league wins a $150 sports voucher, the runner-up will claim an $80 sports voucher while the other 2 participating teams will each receive a $50 voucher. Players, training will resume on 4th October(Saturday). Each participating player will have to pay $20 for the league fees. New jersey designs have also been added to the Jerseys page. Players are once again advised to make their selection before September ends, collection of the jersey fees will start on 4th October.
New Jersey
The team will be making a new jersey after the 1-month break to replace the FBT kit. A page has been set up to show the different choices available. Players are advised to take a look at the designs on offer and cast their votes on the tagboard. To visit the page, click here.
Suspension of Activities
With immediate effect, all activities will be suspended to allow players ample time to prepare for their upcoming examinations. The break will last for a month and the team will be back in action earliest on the first weekend of October.
Match Against Schwarz Star FC Cancelled
The game against Schwarz Star FC was cancelled today because of a water-logged pitch. The game will be postponed to a later date.
Team Dynamo 0-2 Team Elites
After near 2 weeks without a game, Team Dynamo returned to action on a rainy Sunday morning against Team Elites. 13 players were available for match action, with Redhwan returning between the sticks. Hiroki made a rare appearance on the sidelines while Hakim also returned to match action. After the dismal performances in the last 2 games, there was significant pressure on the team to perform in this game. The team made a good start, managing to string some passes together but just lacked the cutting edge in the final third. The forwards had a few chances in the first period but weren't able to convert them. Meanwhile at the opposite end, Redhwan made some good saves to deny the opponent. The first half ended 0-0 after the game had to be halted due to lightning and thunder. But thankfully, the skies cleared for the second half to start. The team once again got moving, trying to find a breakthrough. But with the rain lashing down again, both teams found it hard to play their game. Team Elites though, managed to break the deadlock midway through the second period. An outswinging corner by the opposition landed at the feet of a player who drilled his shot low into the corner to give his team the lead. Team Dynamo continued to threathen, with Jaryl and Hakim coming close to equalising on several occasions. The team was then dealt a severe setback when from a corner kick, the opposition managed to score from a counter-attack. Against the run of play, the opposing forward picked up the ball in the center of the park and managed to dribble past the defence before slotting past Redhwan. With the team 2 goals down, more players piled forward in search of the goals. Jun Wen, Jaryl and Hakim all had chances in the closing stages of the game but weren't able to convert them. The game ended in favour of the opposition. The scoreline though was not a fair reflection of the performance put in by the team which showed much effort and determination in winning the game. There was better communication and teamwork all-round and hopefully the team can maintain the momentum going into the game against Schwarz Star FC. The game against the Falcons will be on 23rd August 2008(Saturday) at 5pm. Venue is Westwood Secondary School. The team will be having a training session next week. The time and venue will be confirmed soon. Team Dynamo lineup: Redhwan(GK), Aaron, Eugene, Yanto, Kenneth, Calvin, Wen Bin, Edwin, Jun Wen, Jaryl, Jia Chuan. Substitutes: Shannon, Hakim.
Team Dynamo 2-6 SP Sports Club
For the second week running, Team Dynamo had to make do with 12 players for the game. The team knew right from the start that they were in for a tough ride and the SP Sports Club duely showed why. With Yanto having to go between the sticks as stand-in keeper in the absence of Kian Leong and Redhwan, the opponents ran riot in the first half as they bagged 6 goals without reply. A mistake by the keeper led to the opener while the team failed to deal with the pace of the opposition for the other goals. With the team trailing by 6 goals, it was always going to be a tough climb back. But the team showed tremendous effort in the second period as they tried to salvage some pride. Team Dynamo pulled one back when Edwin crossed from the right flank for Jun Wen to poke the ball in. Jaryl, who swopped places with Yanto during the half-time break, made some excellent saves in the second period to keep the team in the game. The goalkeeper was quick to come off his line on several occasions to claim the ball while Yanto did well in the heart of defence alongside Eugene. The team managed to double their goal tally when a high ball from the goalkeeper led to some confusion in the opposition backline. The opposing defender attempted to clear the ball, but the ball hit the goalkeeper who had rushed out and then into goal. Team Dynamo shut out the SP Sports Club for the remainer of the period, but had to settle for a 6-2 loss. The team will be having a training session next Saturday. The time and venue will be confirmed soon. Team Dynamo line-up: Yanto(GK), Yong Lun, Kenneth, Si Thu, Eugene, Edwin, Jun Wen, Calvin, Aaron, Jaryl, Jia Chuan. Substitutes: Shannon, Javier.
Team Dynamo 1-5 Dreamz FC
Team Dynamo returned to 11-aside action today at Farrer Park but were defeated by Dreamz FC as the team conceded 3 early goals to put themselves out of contention. Calvin was the sole substitute for the game as Team Dynamo had to again make do with their limited numbers. The game got off to a very bad start, with the opposition heading in from a corner early in the game. The goalscorer though, got injured after Kenneth booted him at the side of his face, leaving a cut near his ear. Things got worse for the team as Dreamz FC tripled their lead, with both goals coming from simple tap-ins after their striker broke through from the defence. The opposition bagged their 4th goal close to the half-time break after Kian Leong failed to deal with a cross, leaving the opposition with an easy chance to score. The half-time score was 4-0 in favour of Dreamz FC. Team Dynamo switched to a 4-5-1 and immediately tried to get themselves back into the game. For some time, it looked like they stood a chance as they managed to match their opposition on the field, limiting them to long shots and deep crosses. The team's efforts were rewarded when Jaryl's shot from outside the box took a slight deflection off a defender and beyond the reach of the goalkeeper. The team continued to threaten and had several other chances. Jun Wen came particularly close as a deflected cross fell to him inside the penalty area, but the midfielder took too long to pull the trigger as the opposition recovered to clear the danger. Dreamz FC sealed their win when their forward ran through the defence to slot home for their 5th goal. The team's next game will be against the SP Sports Club on 26th July 2008(Saturday) at 5pm. Venue is Westwood Secondary School. Team Dynamo line-up: Kian Leong(GK), Shannon, Yanto, Kenneth, Eugene, Wen Bin, Edwin, Jun Wen, Jia Chuan, Aaron, Jaryl. Substitute: Calvin.
Schwarz Star FC 4-team Invitational League
Tournament organisers Schwarz Star FC have pushed back the 4-team Invitational League from September to mid-October/November. This is largely because it will be the fasting month for the Muslims in September. This paves the way for Team Dynamo to take part in the tournament as the fixtures will no longer clash with the Promotional Exams for quite a number of players. Once the fixtures and costs are out, we'll make a decision as to whether or not to take part in the 4-team league. In addition, Javier will be taking leave from the team due to his commitments to his school football team. In his absence, other players will be given more playing time and chances to shine on the pitch.
Team Dynamo 3-0 Pltaw Bears AFC
In 9-aside action on Saturday, Team Dynamo bagged 3 goals in the second half to seal a comfortable win for the visitors. With Pltaw Bears AFC unable to field 11 players on the small pitch, both teams agreed to go ahead with the game with 9 players on each side. Without Kian Leong and Redhwan, Team Dynamo called upon Bram to play in goal. The first half saw few chances for both teams, with the Bears coming particularly close on one occasion. Their forward broke through to a one-on-one situation but the keeper made a quick reflex save to deny the Bears. Javier was carried off midway through the first period through injury after a harsh tackle by the opposition. The first-half ended with the scores at 0-0. Both teams opened up in the second half as they went for the win. But it was Team Dynamo who struck first. New signing Calvin latched onto a long ball played upfield by the goalkeeper and he poked the ball home from inside the area to put the team 1-0 up. Team Dynamo went 2-0 up soon after as Jun Wen converted from a free-kick which left the goalkeeper flapping to double the lead. Si Thu sealed the win minutes later when he hammered the ball home from the left flank. The team's next game will be against Dreamz FC on 19th July 2008(Saturday) at 9am at Farrer Park. Calvin will be joining us permanently from now on. Team Dynamo: Bram(trialist), Kenneth, Yanto, Edwin, Javier, Jaryl, Jun Wen, Jia Chuan, Calvin, Si Thu, Aaron, Yong Lun, Shannon.
Team Updates
Starting from August, the team will no longer be playing a game on every weekend. Instead, we will alternate between match and training. Players, please be informed that we will be having training on the first week of August. Matches on the second week will definitely be on a Sunday as Saturday is National Day. As for the team fund, players are advised to contribute even during trainings as the amount of contribution will go solely to your name. The money can be used to pay for your new kit in the future. Like previous years, the team will once again be booking a chalet bungalow for our year-end holidays. This year though, we've decided to organise a Training Camp for everyone. In preparation for this major event, players are required to email me any suggestions and ideas for the camp. The team is also considering making a new kit to replace our current FBT top. Adidas, Nike, Lotto and Kelme are some brands that have been suggested. Players, do email me your preferences along with your chalet suggestions. I'll be attaching a document consisting of some designs and price in my reply to your email. We are also proud to have been invited by Schwarz Star FC to take part in a 4-team Invitational League. The 4-team tournament, organised by Schwarz Star FC, is scheduled to take place in the month of September. Teams will play 3 games each and the top 2 teams will compete in the final. Games are scheduled to take place on astro-turfs and will cost $80 per game. No prize money is offered, but 18 medals will be awarded to the top 2 teams. Schwarz Star FC is currently negotiating with MacDonald's to provide drinks on matchdays. Players, do indicate your interest either on the tagboard or in an email. Please check your school timetable to ensure this tournament will not clash with your Promotional Exams(for JC students) and any other possible examinations(for Polytechnic students). To round things up, players should include the following in their email: (1)chalet suggestions, (2)kit preferences, (3)interest in the 4-team Invitational League.
Team Dynamo 0-4 Team Devine
A disappointing turnout by the team saw Team Dynamo succumbed to their opponents in an early Saturday afternoon kick-off. With Hakim and Wen Bin unable to join up with the team on time, Team Dynamo started the game with 10 players. Missing the entire forward line, Jia Chuan called upon his cousin, Calvin, who starred in midfield. The team went behind early in the game though as a free-kick hit the bar and went in off Redhwan. Team Dynamo fell behind soon after as Team Devine's #19 hit a left-foot shot from outside the penalty area beyond the reach of Redhwan and into the corner of goal. Hakim was then brought on midway through the first period to restore the team strength. But it didn't help much as Team Devine extended their lead again. This time, a simple tap-in was enough to beat Redhwan who had made a couple of good saves to deny his opponent. Both teams entered the half-time break with Team Devine 3 goals up. With only 1 substitute on the bench, it was a huge contrast to the turnout the previous week before. With rain lashing down hard in the second period, Team Dynamo tried to push forward to bring themselves back into the game. For periods, they managed to contain the opposition with Redhwan once again making some magnificent saves to keep the team in contention. Team Devine kept on attacking though and killed the game off with a fourth and final goal close to the end to seal a 4-0 win. The team will be playing against Pltaw Bears AFC next Saturday, 12th July. Details of the venue and exact time will be out soon. Team Dynamo line-up: Redhwan(GK), Aaron, Javier, Eugene, Kenneth, Yanto, Edwin, Calvin, Hakim, Shannon, Jia Chuan. Substitute: Wen Bin.
Team Dynamo 3-2 Official Chelsea FC Supporters' Club(Singapore)
With a record turnout for this early Saturday afternoon kick-off, Team Dynamo pulled off a hard-earned 3-2 win over the Blues supporters. Despite having 19 players for the game, the players were made to run and work hard for the win. Both teams started the game strongly, but it was Team Dynamo which produced the first clear-cut chance of the game. Edwin slid in a through ball for Jaryl who could have taken a shot but chose to unselfishly square the ball for the onrushing Jun Wen who could only shoot into the side netting. But Jaryl made amends minutes later as he latched onto a pass from Jun Wen and lashed home from inside the box to put Team Dynamo a goal up. The remainder of the first half saw possession almost equally shared between the both teams as they entered the half-time break with Team Dynamo a goal up. With the large amount of players at the team's disposal, the team made several changes to the side in the second half. But the decision backfired as the Blues supporters went infront just barely minutes into the second period. Luke latched onto a high ball from Arjunaidy and sidefooted past Kian Leong at the near post to level the scores. Things got worse for Team Dynamo minutes later as the Blues scored again to complete their comeback. Wesley's shot from just inside the box curled beyond the reach of Kian Leong and into the bottom right-hand corner of goal. With the team behind, Team Dynamo brought back on several players to try and pull them back on level terms. Midway through the second period, the team was awarded a free-kick just outside the penalty area. Si Thu stepped up to hammer the ball through the wall which saw the ball took several deflections. Jaryl though was on hand in the 6-yard box to put the ball into the back of the net to claim his second goal of the game. With less than a quarter of the game left, Team Dynamo piled forward in search of a winner. Jia Chuan came close to opening his account after he broke through from the Blues defence, but his shot hit the post and the goalkeeper quickly gathered. But the efforts of the quick and diminutive striker finally paid off late in the game as he sidefooted home after a swift counterattack left the Blues defence exposed. The late goal left the Blues with no time to get back into the game as Team Dynamo claimed a much-needed win. The team's next game will be against Team Devine next Saturday, 5th July 2008(Saturday). It will take place at St. Wilfrid Sports Complex at 1pm. Team Dynamo line-up: Kian Leong(GK), Wei Liang, Eugene Ng, Javier, Kenneth, Wen Bin, Edwin, Si Thu, Jun Wen, Eugene Chan, Jaryl. Substitutes: Aaron, Yanto, Sham, Jonathan Seet, Shannon, Jia Chuan, Yong Lun, Hakim.
In the early hours of a Sunday morning, with barely 5 hours of sleep, 9 members of Team Dynamo made their way across the island to take part in the MacPherson 7-aside Youth Soccer Tournament. Jonathan Seet was supposed to be part of the team but he had to pull out due to some problems. With the Jurongville Secondary School team among the 8 U-17 teams in the mix, Team Dynamo were drawn into Group A. They kickstarted their tournament with a 1-0 over Doom Squad, with Edwin bagging the only goal of the game after the goalkeeper fumbled his shot. The second match, which saw the team took on Khalifah, ended in a 0-0 draw. Kian Leong made a superb last-minute penalty save to deny Khalifah all 3 points in the encounter. Team Dynamo went into the third and last group game needing to draw to secure qualification to the knockout stages of the competition. Earlier on, Khalifah managed to secure 3 points after a no-show by Doom Squad. This meant that both Team Dynamo and Khalifah were level on 4 points, but with the latter crucially having scored more goals. In the final group encounter, Team Dynamo were up against group leaders Damai Rovers who had a 100% record. The Rovers were physically imposing and managed to bag 2 goals during the game to seal their position as group winners. Team Dynamo had to settle for 3rd in Group A after they were edged out by Khalifah on goals scored. The defeat ended the team's participation in the tournament. Team Dynamo participants: Kian Leong(GK), Kenneth, Eugene, Edwin, Javier, Jaryl, Jia Chuan, Yanto, Aaron.
Team Dynamo 2-3 Team Vijay
On a hot Tuesday afternoon, Team Dynamo welcomed back several former players into the team for the game against Team Vijay. Former captain Redhwan made his return to the team line-up while there was a place for former goalkeeper Kok Leong on the bench. New forward Jia Chuan made his first appearance alongside Si Thu in attack. Team Dynamo kicked off the game as they tested themselves against Team Vijay who were in white. Possession was almost equally shared in the opening exchanges but it was Team Vijay who struck first. A cross-shot by their attacker deceived goalkeeper Jonathan Seet who stood rooted to the ground, watching as the cross flew into the far corner of his goal. Team Vijay were imposing themselves on the game and they struck again close to half-time. A corner by Team Dynamo was cleared and from a swift counterattack, their striker sped down the center and slid the ball into the back of the net to double their lead. Just before the half-time whistle, the team had defender Eugene to thank as he made a vital goal-line clearance. The teams went into half-time with the score at 2-0 in favour of the opposition. Team Dynamo were forced to make changes at half-time, they moved Redhwan to goal and converted to a 4-5-1 formation. Jun Wen was the lone man upfront while Jonathan Seet and Javier played infront of Edwin in midfield. The team managed to control the tempo of the game as the opposition tried to establish their passing game in the middle of the park. Midway through the second period, Team Dynamo managed to pull one back as Edwin scored via a free-kick from just outside the penalty area to halve Team Vijay's advantage. With barely a quarter of the game left, Edwin got the ball in the center and slid a through-ball to Si Thu who managed to put the ball past the goalkeeper to equalise. With the scores finally level, Team Vijay piled forward in an attempt to find a third goal. With time running down, Team Dynamo fouled the opposition forward in a counterattack. From the resulting foul, Team Vijay quickly played a short-free-kick which put their striker through and he made no mistake, slotting home to put his team ahead. With barely minutes remaining, there was no way back for Team Dynamo and despite their efforts and hardwork, they could only lose 3-2. Some members of the team will be participating in the MacPherson CCMC & MAEC 7-aside Youth Soccer Tournament this Sunday at MacPherson Primary School. Team Dynamo line-up: Jonathan Seet(GK), Yanto, Eugene, Javier, Kenneth, Aaron, Redhwan, Edwin, Jun Wen, Jia Chuan, Si Thu. Substitutes: Kok Leong.
Match Cancelled
The game against Schwarz Star FC later today at 3pm has been cancelled due to bad weather. The pitch is in a bad condition and not available for use. The game will be postponed to a later date. Team Dynamo will take on Team Vijay this coming Tuesday at 1pm at St. Wilfrid Complex.
Team Dynamo 1-3 AS-23
With first-choice keeper Kian Leong again out of the match, Jonathan Seet made his appearance between the sticks while Yong Lun returned to the team line-up. Team Dynamo got off to a bad start, a defensive slip-up allowing the AS-23 forward to get behind the defence and slot home easily for an early lead. The opposition doubled their lead soon after as another defensive mix-up allowed AS-23 to score. With Team Dynamo offering little resistance, Jonathan Seet misjudged the bounce of the ball and allowed it to bounce over him and into goal. The half-time score was 3-0 in favour of AS-23. Team Dynamo made some changes during the break, moving Jaryl to goal and bringing on Hakim in a lone striker role. The team threatened to score on several occasions, but lacked the crucial finishing touch. AS-23 had their fair share of chances. Their midfielder had the goal at his mercy, but couldn't find a way past Jaryl who made an excellent double save in quick succession to keep AS-23 at bay. Team Dynamo did pull one back in the second period after AS-23's defender was judged to have handled the ball in the penalty area. Si Thu stepped up and made no mistake from the spot, firing into the lower left corner. Both teams piled forward in their search for goals, but failed to produce any as the game ended 3-1. The team's next game is not confirmed yet. Team Dynamo line-up: Jonathan Seet(GK), Yanto, Javier, Kenneth, Aaron, Eugene Chan, Wen Bin, Jun Wen, Edwin, Si Thu, Jaryl. Substitutes: Yong Lun, Hakim.
Team Dynamo 1-1 Team Eugene
With several players unavailable, Team Dynamo had to draft in emergency goalkeeper Jared to make up for the lack in numbers. The team started the game with 11 players, without any substitutes on the bench. The team got off to a pretty good start, but only took the lead midway through the first half as Jaryl bundled in a corner which the opposition goalkeeper had tried to punch away. The team tried to take their lead into the half-time break but allowed the opposition midfielder to slot home inside the penalty area after his midfielder slid in a cross from the right flank. Both teams went into half-time with the score at 1-1. The second half saw both teams on par, with Jaryl having the best opportunity of the second period. A through-ball from Javier put Jaryl through on goal, but his shot was stopped by the on-rushing goalkeeper who managed to palm the ball to safety. Nobody was able to break the deadlock and the game ended in a draw. The team's next game is confirmed, with AS-23 as our next opponent on 25th May(Sunday). Team Dynamo line-up: Jared(GK, emergency cover), Yanto, Eugene, Javier, Kenneth, Aaron, Si Thu, Jun Wen, Edwin, Jaryl, Hakim.
Dear players, I've received an invitation from the MacPherson MAEC Organising Committee for us to take part in their 2nd annual youth soccer tournament. The event will be held on 15th June 2008(Sunday) at MacPherson Primary School. The U-17 event will be played on a newly-laid artificial pitch and it will cost $50 per team. Each team can register up to 10 players and medals will be awarded to winners. The competition will involve a group stage, with the top 2 teams advancing to the knock-out round. Each half of the game will last 5 minutes, with no half-time interval. If you're interested, please indicate your interest in the tagboard or simpy drop me an SMS. I need the replies soon as the deadline is the end of this month. The MAEC Organising Committee contacted me after reading our article on the papers yesterday and I think this is a good chance for the team to expose itself to some competitions.
Team Dynamo 1-6 Team R.F.C
On a wet Saturday, Team Dynamo turned up at Jurong Junior College to play against Team R.F.C. With several A Division players in the opposition line-up, the team knew they were up against tough opposition. Team R.F.C started the game brightly and controlled the game, but failed to score in the early stages as Team Dynamo were struggling to get out of their half. With no shots on target in the first half, Team Dynamo were constantly pegged back and allowed the opposition to nick ahead midway through the first period as their striker scored from a tight angle from the right flank. And from an almost similar position later in the first period, Team R.F.C scored again. But this time, a deflection in the penalty box allowed the opposition the time and space to blast the ball home. Team Dynamo had goalkeeper Kian Leong to thank as he rescued the team on several occasions with some superb goalkeeping. Both teams went into half-time with the score at 2-0. Team Dynamo made some minor changes to the line-up for the second half and managed to pull one back via a corner. Centre-back Eugene rose the highest at the backpost to bring the team back into contention for the game. But the team practically self-destructed from then on. The team lost the shape and the opposition were able to take advantage of several mistakes to score 4 goals in the second period to seal their win. The team's next game is against Team Eugene on 18th May 2008(Sunday). The match will kick-off at 3pm at Westwood Secondary School. Team Dynamo line-up: Kian Leong(GK), Wei Liang, Eugene, Yanto, Kenneth, Eugene Chan, Jun Wen, Edwin, Aaron, Si Thu, Jaryl. Substitutes: Yong Lun, Javier, Wen Bin, Jonathan Seet, Hakim.
Dynamo In The Papers
Team Dynamo's interview with The New Paper was released yesterday, 9th May 2008. The Friday issue, which saw the interview covered in 2-pages on the Weekend Warriors column represents another significant step in the progress of the team. Titled 'Dynamites in Team Dynamo', the columnist painted the team as 'charismatic' and 'enthusiastic'. Team Dynamo is a team that places emphasis on creating chances for oneself and bringing people together. Right from the start, we've never claimed that we'll be the best football team around and we never will. This team plays football because we've got the passion for it and we believe that the article has helped us to channel those ideas. The team would hereby like to thank columnist David Lee and his photographer, Kua Chee Siong, for doing such a magnificent write-up for us.
Team Dynamo 1-2 Western Redjacks
On a hot and sunny afternoon, Team Dynamo knew that this would be a tricky tie to negotiate, especially when the opponents had played in the last season of the Playsports League. Team Dynamo started the match confidently, taking heart from their 1-0 loss to Team Orange 2 weeks ago. Javier again featured in the heart of defence alongside Eugene, but Hakim and Wei Liang had to pull out just before the game due to external commitments. Team Dynamo took a surprise lead early in the game, Jaryl latching onto a long pass from Jun Wen and then lobbing the goalkeeper to give the team a shock 1-0 lead. The team managed to contain the opposition for much of the first half, but went behind after their striker broke through and slipped the ball into the bottom corner beyond Kian Leong's reach. Both teams went into the break level at 1-1. Western Redjacks came out of the break with guns ablazing, determined to put themselves ahead. Team Dynamo were pegged back for most of the second half but did well to maintain the score at 1-1. With the afternoon heat and pressure from the opposition, it seemed that Team Dynamo would crumble on several occasions and they did close to the end. From a corner, the Redjacks managed to get their heads to the ball and the team could only watch as the ball trickled into the net. Team Dynamo attempted to fight back but with barely any time remaining, they had to settle for a 2-1 loss to the opposition. The team's next game is against Team R.F.C on 10th May(Saturday) at 11.30am at Jurong Junior College. Team Dynamo line-up: Kian Leong(GK), Yanto, Javier, Eugene, Kenneth, Eugene Chan, Jun Wen, Edwin, Pravin, Si Thu, Jaryl. Substitutes: Wen Bin, Jonathan Seet, Aaron.
Team Dynamo 0-1 Team Orange
Having lost to Team Orange 5-0 in an encounter barely less than a year ago, Team Dynamo were determined to show that they have improved since that brutal defeat. True enough, the players put in a spirited display. But that wasn't enough as a Team Orange goal midway through the first half gave them a marginal 1-0 win. Team Dynamo had the luxury of calling upon arguably their best line-up, with Javier filling in defence and trialist Kian Leong in goal. Both teams looked evenly-matched though it was Team Orange who had the edge when it came to attacking. Team Dynamo did well to contain the opposition but were just lacking the cutting edge in the other half. Team Orange threatened on several occasions, shooting at goal whenever they were presented with an opportunity. It was no surprise when they went ahead midway through the first period as their striker latched onto a bouncing ball and fired home from outside the penalty box. The ball took a slight swerve and ended up in the bottom corner, beyond the reach of debutant Kian Leong. Team Dynamo fought back, going close through Jaryl and Si Thu. The first half ended 1-0, with the Dynamo players genuinely believing that they could get a result out of it. But their hopes were severely dented when both Eugene Chan and Jun Wen had to be substituted after sustaining ankle injuries during the game. Si Thu again went close for Team Dynamo, first scuffing his shot wide from outside the penalty area and then blasting the ball over the goal from the right-hand side. Team Orange did threaten to put the game beyond Team Dynamo on several occasions too, taking advantage of their lack in numbers on the counter-attack. But Kian Leong did well in goal, making several important saves to deny the opposition. The players worked tirelessly throughout the game and even though they lost, it was a much closer margin than many would have expected. All in all, it was a great display of courage from Team Dynamo though they will have to cut out the minor mistakes to genuinely challenge the big guns in the future. The team face a tough test 2 weeks from now as they will take on Western Redjacks on 27th April(Sunday), 3pm at Fuhua Secondary School. The Redjacks competed in the first season of the Playsports League and finished 5th in the 8-team competition. In addition, goalkeeper Kok Leong will no longer be part of the team after his extended period of leave from the team. Trialist Kian Leong will join the team with immediate effect while Jonathan Seet will link up too as back-up to him. Team Dynamo line-up: Kian Leong(GK Trialist), Wei Liang, Javier, Eugene, Kenneth, Eugene Chan, Jun Wen, Edwin, Si Thu, Jaryl, Hakim. Substitutes: Yanto, Wen Bin, Wen Cong(trialist), Jonathan Seet, Aaron.
Match Called Off
The game against Schwarz Star FC today, 5th April, has been called off due to rainy conditions. The decision came at around 3.30pm, when the warden called off the game to ensure the pitch is in good condition for the future. The game is set to be postponed to a later date.
Team Dynamo 1-7 Fairfield School Team
With Team Dynamo missing several key personnel ahead of the kick-off, the team had to call upon trialists Jared and Eugene as cover. Eugene did play with the team on several occasions and got the nod for a place in the starting line-up. Jared came in as an emergency goalkeeper. Against the Fairfield school soccer team, the odds were always going to be against Team Dynamo. Coupled with the absence of key players, Team Dynamo knew they had to work doubly hard to clinch a win. But they went behind on 3 occasions in the first half after allowing their opponents far too much space in front of goal. The Fairfield players finished clinically to bring a 3-0 lead into half-time. One of the few bright spots for Team Dynamo in the first half came when Si Thu latched onto a through ball and raced to goal, only to be halted by the rushing goalkeeper who managed to claim the ball. Hakim blasted over from inside the penalty area after failing to connect with a free-kick cleanly, while Javier headed over from a corner kick. With the team being outclassed in the first half, Team Dynamo made changes to try and change things around. They switched to a 4-5-1 from the original 4-4-2, with Pravin making his first appearance in months from the bench. There were also slight reshuffles as Hakim went to right midfield, with Si Thu at the apex of the 4-5-1 shape. The play improved but mistakes at the back and a lack of communication pinned Team Dynamo furthur back. The opposition was allowed to walk the ball into the empty goal after Jared and defender Kenneth failed to clear a cross. Javier was adjudged to have fouled the opposition midfielder who had made a run into the box, with his momentum taking him through and ultimately bringing him down, resulting in a penalty. Team Dynamo did reply though, with substitute Pravin making an impact after coming off the bench. The attacking midfielder timed his pass to near perfection, allowing Si Thu to slot the ball under the goalkeeper from just inside the penalty area to pull one back. The team's next fixture could be against amateur league side Alliance SC, who are plying their trade in the ESPZEN Saturday League. Details of the game have yet to be confirmed. Meanwhile, trialist Eugene is set for an extended run-out with the team. He'll most probably be part of the team roster from now onwards and will join us for weekend games. Pravin, who made his long-awaited return to the team, could also be coming down more regularly for games. Team Dynamo line-up: Jared(GK), Eugene(trialist), Kenneth, Eugene Ng, Wen Bin, Aaron, Javier, Edwin, Hiroki, Si Thu, Hakim. Substitutes: Pravin.
Team Dynamo 6-1 Team Hongkah
Team Dynamo ensured no upsets as they comfortably swept aside Team Hongkah 6-1 to claim their 1st win of 2008. Despite having an average age of just 15, Team Hongkah players did put up severe resistance in the opening minutes only to lose momentum after Javier put Team Dynamo ahead. The midfielder took advantage of a loose ball in the penalty area and lashed home a shot to give his side a 1-0 lead. Si Thu scored from almost a similar position minutes later to double the advantage. Team Dynamo though were met with a setback after trialist goalkeeper Jonathan Seet misplaced his goalkick to allow the opposing striker to easily slot home to halve the advantage. Team Dynamo replied, almost instantly, as Jaryl blasted the ball over the back-tracking goalkeeper from kick-off. Both teams entered half-time at 3-1. Dynamo made 2 changes at half-time, with Hiroki and Sham coming on for Kenneth and Aaron. Team Dynamo continued to dominate against the younger opposition, with Jaryl scoring from a volley and shot inside the area. The striker completed his hat-trick before Si Thu added the icing on the cake with a spot-kick which ended in the bottom corner. The match saw several cautions flashed, particularly a red card for a Team Hongkah defender who slid in two-footed while challenging for the ball with Edwin. At times, the match threatened to spill over but the players were able to keep their heads. Compared to previous games, this game was against far easier opposition but Team Dynamo did well in the horrible field conditions to claim a much-needed win. The squad will have the chance to clock up 2 more wins this month before they prepare to face tougher opposition in April. 3 out of the 4 teams in April hail from amateur leagues and will be no push-overs like Team Hongkah. The team will most probably face Team Fairfield next Saturday, 22nd March. The venue and timing are still receiving confirmation. Team Dynamo line-up: Jonathan Seet(GK, trialist), Wei Liang, Eugene, Yanto, Kenneth, Jun Wen, Javier, Edwin, Si Thu, Aaron, Jaryl. Substitutes: Sham, Hiroki.
Team Dynamo 0-6 Apex Rangers
Team Dynamo finally took to the field again after a 3-week break, but could only watch as the experienced Apex Rangers side displayed clinical finishing to sweep home a 6-0 win. Apex Rangers shot out of the blocks early in the game, never giving Team Dynamo any space or time to play their game. They broke the deadlock with a shot in the penalty area before adding a second via a header. Both teams went into half-time with the scores at 2-0. Team Dynamo tried to make changes, switching from 4-4-2 to 4-5-1 in an attempt to catch Apex on the counter. But the weather did not help their cause as rain poured down heavily in the second half. Apex bagged another 4, courtesy of a penalty and an own goal, to seal the win. The team will face Team Hongkah at Old Choa Chu Kang Road this coming Saturday, 15th March at 3pm. Team Dynamo line-up: Yanto(GK), Wenbin, Kenneth, Eugene, Aaron, Hiroki, Javier, Edwin, Si Thu, Jun Wen, Hakim. Substitutes: Yong Lun, Faiz(trialist).
Team Dynamo 2-5 Team Shuqun
After 2 weeks of training, this match provided each and every player with the chance to see how far they've come. They didn't disappoint themselves as there were significant improvements all over the pitch. The passing was more fluent and the players were fitter, faster and more competitive. Despite creating opportunities in front of goal, the team's finishing let them down as they headed into half-time 1-0 down. Both Si Thu and Sham had superb opportunities to put the team in front, but dearly missed. The second half presented the players with countless chances but again the finishing was not there. Javier did score, after he ran through the defence which thought that Jun Wen was in an offside position. The midfielder slotted home to level the scores at 1-1 and Si Thu added the team's second after a cross. But it was all downhill from there as the team conceded 4 goals after that to lose 5-2. There were many positives all round the camp, be it individually or as a unit. But if the team are to win a game, then the finishing have got to be more clinical and deadly. Team Dynamo line-up: Kok Leong(GK), Wei Liang, Eugene, Yanto, Kenneth, Edwin, Javier, Jaryl, Sham, Si Thu, Jun Wen. Substitutes: Aaron, Wenbin, Yong Lun, Hiroki.
Training Dates
The team had a successful training session today, 6th February @ NTU. Despite the tight schedule, 8 players still managed to attend the training session. Basic ball control, light fitness work and shooting exercises were covered in the 3-hour session. There will be 2 more upcoming training session next week, on Tuesday and Saturday. The Tuesday session will be at 4pm @ NTU, and it will cover fitness work and some training drills. As for Saturday, it will just be a light session which should encompass tactical training and set-pieces. The time and venue for Saturday will be 10am @ NTU. As there will be a match on Sunday, the training time and intensity has been lowered to give players ample time to recover for the game. All training details are not confirmed as of yet. Players are advised to come down for training.
Team Dynamo 1-7 Westside Kids FC
For the team, it was always about damage limitation right before kick-off. With seemingly an S-League player and a Prime League player on show at the St. Wilfrid Complex, Team Dynamo did not have high hopes of taking anything away from the game. They did what all underdogs would have done in their position: stay positive. But the positivity did not last long as Westside Kids quickly raced into a comfortable 3-0 lead before Hakim pulled one back for Dynamo after springing an offside trap to leave the entire Westside defence motionless. Team Dynamo had their fair share of chances in the first half, but failed to covert them. Even with a 2-goal lead established, Westside Kids were not satisfied as they almost entirely dominated the second half. With the Dynamo players only able to watch as the Kids put on a display of flowing football, the opposition bagged another 4 in the middle of the second period to seal the game. The team's next game will be against Team Shuqun on 17th February(Sunday) at 9am at Fuhua Secondary School. Team Dynamo line-up: Yanto(GK), Javier, Eugene, Kenneth, Aaron, Hiroki, Jaryl, Edwin, Sham, Si Thu, Jun Wen. Substitutes: Wenbin, Hakim.
Team Dynamo 1-4 Team Huayi
With barely 11 men to spare, Team Dynamo went into this game with high hopes but crashed as they lost 4-1 to familiar opposition. A sudden withdrawal by Yong Lun meant the team had to call upon trialist Eugene the night before to make up the numbers. The game started brightly for both sides at Kent Ridge Secondary but Team Huayi were able to nick 2 goals ahead in the first-half. The first coming from their striker who got behind the defensive line to slot under the keeper. The second came from a miskicked goal kick which allowed the opposition striker to slot home easily. Team Dynamo managed to match the opposition and did create their fair share of chances but were slightly wasteful in front of goal as chances went begging. The second half was almost the same story as the first half with Team Dynamo creating but not able to add the finishing touch. Team Huayi added 2 more goals in the second period, the first coming from a goalkeeping error as Yanto allowed the ball to slip under his body and into the net. The second came from a break down the right flank with the opposition striker finishing with a shot into the bottom corner. Team Dynamo did manage to find some consolation as Jaryl finished off a move which involved Si Thu and Jun Wen. Jun Wen's through ball sliced the opposition backline open, allowing Si Thu to square the ball to Jaryl who only needed to sweep the ball into the empty net. The team's next game will be against Westside Kids FC on 3rd February(Sunday) at 11am at St. Wilfrid Complex. Team Dynamo line-up: Yanto(GK), Wenbin, Eugene(trialist), Kenneth, Hiroki, Jaryl, Edwin, Javier, Sham, Jun Wen, Si Thu.
Team Dynamo 1-8 MUFCSG
Weeks of inactivity on the pitch showed its effect as Team Dynamo again crumbled in the 2nd half of the game to lose 8-1 to MUFCSG. On an early Saturday in Woodlands and the privilege of having 15 players, Team Dynamo kicked off the game brightly. The team practically matched the opposition man for man, but twice allowed them to run behind the last line of defence to slot home for a 2-0 lead. Team Dynamo showed some resolve and worked well to pull a goal back just before half-time. Jun Wen chased down a long ball upfield and squared the ball to Si Thu who slotted the ball under the goalkeeper. The team made some slight changes at half-time to try and take advantage of the rolling substitions but the plan backfired almost immediately as confusion set in. Having not played a game for 2 weeks, the players were tired and physically-decimated by the physically-imposing MUFCSG. 3 long-ranged goals were followed by 2 headed goals before MUFCSG rounded up the scoring with a shot just inside the box, all the goal action happening in the early part of the 2nd half. Team Dynamo did trouble the opposition but were never able to recover after the 3rd goal went in. The loss is a steep learning curve but the team can take heart from the game after some decent individual performances and the return to action for a couple of players who haven't been able to join us in recent weeks. Team Dynamo line-up: Kok Leong(GK), Wei Liang, Eugene, Yanto, Aaron, Edwin, Javier, Jaryl, Si Thu, Jun Wen, Hakim. Substitutes: Kenneth, Sham, Pravin, Wen Bin.
Team Dynamo 5-4 Kumz Club
Team Dynamo notched a second consecutive win but were made to work hard for it after receiving an early scare. Defender Kenneth pulled out at the last minute due to sickness and the team was forced to call upon 3 trialists in the form of Jeremy, Cheeyang and Eugene. There was a slight shuffle in the shape and personnel of the team but the players managed to take the lead through Jun Wen just minutes into the game. Kumz Club's reply was immediate though, capitalising on a defensive lapse to level the score. Midway through the first half, Javier's corner kick evaded everyone and went straight into the net to put Dynamo ahead. But Kumz Club again replied, this time a shot taking a wicked deflection to give goalkeeper Jaryl no chance of saving it. The half-time score was 2-2. Team Dynamo kicked off the second half and pushed for their 3rd goal. Their efforts were rewarded when Jun Wen raced clear to slot the ball home. The team doubled their lead through Yanto, who nodded home from a corner to put Dynamo 4-2 up. But Kumz Club nearly turned the tables on the team when twice, they were allowed to race through the middle after a goal kick to slot the ball into the back of the net. With both teams tied and time barely remaining, Jun Wen capitalised on a goalmouth melee, the result of a corner kick, to smash the loose ball home and complete his hat-trick. Team Dynamo line-up: Jaryl(GK), Wei Liang, Eugene(trialist), Si Thu, Hiroki, Edwin, Javier, Yanto, Cheeyang(trialist), Aaron, Jun Wen. Substitutes: Jeremy(trialist).
Team Dynamo 4-1 Team 69
Team Dynamo finally ended a streak of losses but still failed to keep a clean sheet, coming away from St. Wilfred Complex with a morale-boosting 4-1 win over Team 69. The game started brightly and Team Dynamo's efforts were rewarded early in the first half as Jaryl's corner was met by Javier who tapped in infront of goal to give the team a 1-0 lead. Team Dynamo continued to push forward with Team 69 doing the same. But the first half ended in favour of Team Dynamo. The second half saw some changes to both teams' line-up. For the first time in weeks, we were able to call upon 2 substitutes from the bench. Centre-back Eugene was finally back in action, featuring alongside Kenneth in the heart of defence. The half-time changes saw Hiroki replacing Aaron at right-back and Jun Wen replacing Kenneth. Team Dynamo started the game badly though. A long ball from midfield caused problems for goalkeeper Kok Leong, allowing the opposition forward to lob the ball over him and into the empty net. Team Dynamo's reply was instantaneous though, a floated cross from a corner which Eugene diverted to the back of the net with his head. Soon after, Team Dynamo doubled their lead. A through ball to Si Thu which the forward clinically finished with a shot from the left-hand side. Si Thu had time for his second goal, courtesy of a goalkeeping error by the opposition. The goalkeeper miskicked a goal kick and Si Thu made no mistake from 6 yards out. Both sides countinued to battle it out but failed to add to the scoreline. A resounding win for Team Dynamo, shadowed only by the absence of several players and a first clean sheet for the team. The team's next game is against Kumz Club on 22nd December at 1pm at St. Wilfrid Complex. Team Dynamo line-up: Kok Leong(GK), Wei Liang, Eugene, Kenneth, Si Thu, Edwin, Sham, Yanto, Javier, Aaron, Jaryl. Substitutes: Hiroki, Jun Wen.
Kallang Roar FC 3-2 Team Dynamo
Severely outnumbered and in torrentious rain conditions, Team Dynamo twice equalised to level the scores. But faced with the daunting task of playing with 11 men for the full 90, the team crumbled and could not find a 3rd goal to pull them back on terms. The team made a terrific start to the game, creating several chances in front of goal. Hakim, who was back in the side after a 2-game absence, came closest to putting the team ahead. Jun Wen latched onto a through ball on the right flank and cut the ball back for Hakim. The goalkeeper allowed the ball to slip under him and across the goalmouth, but Hakim could not react in time. Midway through the first-half, the team was dealt a cruel blow as the opposing forward fell under the sliding challenge of centre-back Kenneth in the penalty area. Kallang Roar midfielder Benny made no mistake from the spot as the opposition went ahead going into half-time. Team Dynamo had to score if they had to have any chances of winning. Right-winger Sham Prasad Kumar came up with the perfect answer as his tap-in in front of goal during a goalmouth melee pulled the team on level terms. Both teams continued to pile forward in search of a winner, with Kallang Roar using their substitues' bench to great effect. The opposition went ahead again as the team was caught flat-flooted in a counter-attack. But not to be undermined, Si Thu equalised with a shot from just inside the penalty area to bring the score to 2-2. As the game headed into the closing stages, Team Dynamo's lack of options on the bench clearly showed again. Another counter-attack by Kallang Roar saw the ball in our net for the 3rd time that day. Without much time left, Team Dynamo failed to produce a 3rd equaliser and could only come away with a 3-2 loss, though the performance was commendable. The team's next game will be against Team 69 on 15th December at 1pm at St. Wilfred Complex. Team Dynamo line-up: Jaryl(GK), Wei Liang, Javier, Kenneth, Hiroki, Sham, Yanto, Jun Wen, Edwin, Si Thu, Hakim.
Las Hearutsusu FC 7-0 Team Dynamo
For the second week running, Team Dynamo had to make do with a depleted squad as 5 players were ruled out due to either injury or external commitments. Hiroki made a rare appearance at full-back after Javier fell ill. The midfielder though, did take the field in the second half at centre-back. Under the hot sun and with the referee seemingly playing in favour of the opposition, the team went 3-0 down going into the half-time break. Without any substitutes, the players fought on for the whole 90 minutes but had nothing to show for their efforts. The floodgates opened in the second half as Las Hearutsusu FC piled forward in an attempt to take advantage of our lack of numbers on the bench. The boys in yellow planted another 4 goals in the second half to win 7-0. The team will be taking a break next week as many players will be overseas. The game against Schwarz Star FC will not be played next week and could be re-scheduled to a later date. Our next game will be against Kallang Roar FC at SAFRA Tampines. Team Dynamo line-up: Kok Leong(GK), Wei Liang, Kenneth, Yanto, Hiroki(Javier), Edwin, Sham, Pravin, Si Thu, Aaron, Jaryl.
Team Dynamo 1-5 NUFC Supporters' Club(Singapore)
In the first of a string of friendly matches to come, Team Dynamo huffed and puffed but still lost to the experienced squad of the NUFC Supporters' Club. Despite months of inactivity, the team were still in contention going into the half-time break with the Geordies ahead 2-1. Our goal came courtesy of midfielder Aaron Wee, his first goal for the team, after good work on the right flank by Si Thu. The speedy forward found Aaron in the penalty area and cut the ball back for the midfielder who managed to poke the ball past the keeper. The second half was a different story as the depleted side failed to adjust to the pace of the game. The Geordies were able to bring on some fresh faces while Dynamo battled on with 11 man. 3 goals conceded in the second half meant the NUFC Supporters' Club came away with a 5-1 victory. The scoreline did not reflect entirely the chances created by the opposition as goalkeeper Jaryl Lee came up with some top-notch saves to keep the side in the game. The next match is against Las Hearutsusu FC, another adult team. Team Dynamo line-up: Jaryl, Wei Liang, Yanto, Kenneth, Wenbin, Edwin, Sham, Aaron, Javier, Jun Wen, Si Thu. Man of the Match: Jaryl Lee.
Match Confirmation

The venue for this game will be the Bukit Timah Field Pitch 1 and each team will have to pay $50 to cover the costs of the field and referee. The games against Las Hearutsusu FC and Schwarz Star FC are still undergoing confirmation. Sec5N(A) 4-4 Team Dynamo
Team Dynamo’s captain, Edwin Mak, struck deep into injury time to force an amazing draw against Fuhua’s Sec 5N (A) team in the testimonial match held in commemoration for the graduating players, who will be taking their Cambridge “O” Levels examinations soon.
Team Dynamo had a depleted squad for this match as key players such as Jaryl, Wei Liang, Pravin, Yong Lun and Hiroki were unable to take part due to external commitments. This led to a sudden recall of former captain Redhwan to be a guest player for the testimonial match. The Sec 5 N (A) team, on the other hand, had a full squad and a full substitute bench of 7 players, compared to Dynamo’s 2.
Hisham opened the scoring for Sec 5 N (A) early on in the game, and the Sec 5 N (A) s, continued bombarding shots on Team Dynamo’s keeper Kok Leong, who had to pull off a couple of great saves to keep the Sec 5 N (A) at bay. Despite Kok Leong’s heroics, the Dynamo’s custodian was not able to prevent Fadhil to score a scorcher-an unstoppable shot from about 20 yards, to make the score line 2-0. Hisham then made it three nil for the Sec 5 N (A), by capitalizing a mistake by Kok Leong-scoring a textbook header which left Kok Leong stranded.
Half time arrived with Team Dynamo 3-0 down. However, despite of the score line, Team Dynamo stormed back in the second half with much aplomb, Dynamo’s captain Edwin’s half time team talk putting to much effect. With Dynamo 3-0 down, Dynamo switched from a 4-4-2 formation to a 5-3-2 layout, with Aaron coming on for Wen Bin, and guest player Redhwan, on for Yanto. The move proved fruitful, with Aaron starting the move which led to inspirational midfielder Javier pulling one back for Team Dynamo. Team Dynamo kept up with their high tempo playing, keeping with their fast flowing football. Team Dynamo’s Burmese import, Si Thu Tun, tested Goalkeeper Andi with swerving drive which was superbly cleared by Andi. With Team Dynamo regaining their touch, it was not long before Team Dynamo added to the score line. Hakim, scoring with a low cross-shot, which left Andi no chance. Eugene then made it 3-3, sliding in from behind to equalize for Team Dynamo.
The Sec 5 N (A) team then made some changes in an attempt to break up Team Dynamo’s game. Goalkeeper, Andi, moved upfront, with one of their substitutes going in goal. Andi, then easily beat 3 Dynamo players, before slotting the ball coolly between Kok Leong and the near post. With the score at 4-3, Team Dynamo made one last change, in a last gasp attempt to turn the game around. Yanto, coming in goal while Kok Leong replaced Redhwan in central defense. With the seconds ticking away, Dynamo pushed forward looking for an equalizer. With encouragements coming from the stands, Si Thu Tun took the ball from the centre of the park and dribbled into the six yard box. Just as he was to take the shot, Si Thu Tun, spotted Edwin running in to support. Si Thu Tun then cleverly used a deflection of the keeper to lay the ball of the Edwin, who tapped the ball into an empty net with ease. The goal brought celebrations around the pitch, and ecstasy erupted among the Dynamo players when the final whistle was blown.
As a mark of respect, a penalty shootout was played to commemorate 4 years of learning in Fuhua. This penalty shootout was played with no respect to the final score line of 4-4.
It was fortunate that the penalty shootout was not the decisive factor of a Champions League Final, as it would have been nerve-wrecking to make one sweat over their team. In the scorching sun of nearly 38 degrees C, a marathon shootout was something that most team would want to avoid. As the home team, Team Dynamo took the first penalty. Sham shooting straight at the keeper. The Sec 5s then made it 1-0, with a well placed shot by Akmal. Si Thu Tun then made it 1-1 for Team Dynamo. The shootout then continued to 7-7, with Jun Wen, Javier, Eugene, Aaron, Edwin and Si Thu Tun, all converting their spot kicks. Redhwan, Dynamo’s ex captain then stepped up to take the tenth penalty for Team Dynamo. Despite scoring in a practice run, Redhwan shot straight into the arms of their keeper. With the game now in the Sec 5s hands, Raffian who missed his earlier penalty, didn’t make any mistake with his second, leashing another unstoppable shot pass the despairing Yanto, winning the penalty shootout 8-7.
Final score: Team Dynamo 4 Sec 5 N (A) 4
Team Dynamo: (Javier) (Hakim) (Eugene) (Edwin)
Sec 5 N (A): (Hisham 2) (Fadhil) (Andi)
Team Dynamo: Kok Leong, Kenneth, Yanto (Redhwan), Eugene, Wen Bin (Aaron), Sham, Javier, Edwin, Jun Wen, Hakim, Si Thu Tun.

Dynamo wins 11-goal thriller
Team Dynamo emerged victors in an 11-goal thriller after having to come back from 2 goals down. The game started brightly for both sides, but it was the opposition who took the lead as they capialised on their chances. Dynamo then went 2-1 up within minutes of going down as Si Thu and Jun Wen put Dynamo ahead. Si Thu added a third midway through the game, but the lead was cut back to one as the opposition once again capitalised on one of their few chances. The first half ended 3-2. The opposition came out of the second half with guns ablazing as they took a shock 4-3 lead after a goalkeeping error by Kok and a defensive lapse. But Dynamo battled back as Si Thu latched onto a long ball before putting the ball past the hapless opposition goalie. Centre-back Eugene, back after a long spell out, then put Dynamo ahead with an explosive header after the team had won a corner. With time running out, the opposition burst forward and were rewarded with an equaliser. But Dynamo had the last laugh as Edwin fired from the edge of the penalty box, the shot taking a massive deflection off a defender before heading for goal. The comeback was completed as there was barely time for the opposition to kickstart any attack. Starting line-up: Kok Leong(gk), Wei Liang, Eugene, Yanto, Aaron(Kenneth), Yong Lun, Pravin(Hakim), Javier, Jaryl, Jun Wen(Edwin), Si Thu.

Dynamo outclassed
A depleted Dynamo side went down 5-0 to Team Orange in a friendly held at St. Wilfred Sports Complex on a wet Sunday afternoon. Without any substitutes on the bench, the entire side had to last the whole 90 minutes. The side barely created any chances and failed to make any breakthrough. Team Orange went ahead early in the game when their midfielder blasted home just past the halfway line and they doubled their lead when their forward curled home from the edge of the box. Nearing half-time, Dynamo went another goal down as Team Orange headed home from a corner kick. The second half started slowly as Dynamo attempted to pass the ball around the park. Possession was increased as we packed the midfield, but Team Orange scored another unstoppable goal again. This time, they picked out the bottom corner and lashed home from outside the penalty area. Kok Leong got a touch on it, but it wasn't enough to stop the ball from going in. Without any substitutes, the team got tired and conceded once again midway through the second half with Team Orange slamming home from close range. Overall, the second half was better as the team attempted to string together a series of passes and genuinely increased possession even though we failed to make too much of a breakthrough. Team Dynamo: Jaryl(gk), Wei Liang, Edwin, Kok Leong, Kenneth, Sham, Si Thu, Javier, Clarence(trialist), Hakim, Jun Wen. Second half change: Kok Leong(gk).
