Team Dynamo 3-1 Northumberland Knights

SATURDAY, 1st AUGUST... Team Dynamo banished memories of their last visit to Bukit Timah Field by upsetting Northumberland Knights 3-1 on Saturday. Team Dynamo's previous visit to Bukit Timah Field ended in a 6-1 defeat to the Fairfield School Team but the team ensured they stayed on the winning side this time round. The team got off to a bad start though, as the Knights took the lead midway through the first period courtesy of an easy tap-in infront of goal. A ball over the top was not dealt with properly, and the Knights forward slipped in behind the defence before squaring the ball for this teammate to slot into the net. But Team Dynamo equalised soon after as Jaryl finished off a quick counter-attack with a shot from a tight angle. Birthday boy Jia Chuan gave Dynamo the lead close to half-time as he finished off yet another quick counter-attack. There were changes aplenty for the Knights at the half-time break which seemed to have disrupted their flow of play. Team Dynamo duly capitalised and were able to keep the Knights at bay, pegging them back in their own half before doubling their lead through Wen Bin's friend. The Knights had a go at the Dynamo goal, but were not able to convert their chances as Dynamo recorded a 3-1 victory. Team Dynamo line-up: Edwin(GK), Wei Liang, Eugene, Javier, Kenneth, Calvin, Dave, Jasper, Si Thu, Jia Chuan, Jaryl. Substitutes: Shannon, Wen Bin, Yong Lun, Wen Bin's friend.

Team Dynamo 2-2 Team NSMI

MONDAY, 15th June... Team Dynamo scored 2 vital second-half goals to grab a second consecutive draw at Jurong Junior College. Missing the services of first-choice goalkeeper Kian Leong and Redhwan, Jaryl started the game in goal and the team got off to a good start with a couple of chances falling to Hakim who failed to convert them. The returning striker latched onto a through ball but could only fire straight at the goalkeeper. Edwin's return from injury was cut short midway through the first period after he pulled up yet again, with Si Thu coming on to replace him. Team Dynamo continued to pile on the pressure but it was the opposition who stole the lead, a cross from the right wing was met by their giant midfielder who rose above everyone else to thump the ball into the back of the net. Both sides continued to battle it out, with chances falling to both Si Thu and Hakim who couldn't pull the team level before the break. The half-time break saw Jaryl move into a more advanced role to accomodate Si Thu, with Edwin being brought on again to play in goal. But an early mix-up infront of goal by Edwin and the defence allowed the opposition to knick another goal before Jaryl pulled one back with only the keeper to beat. The striker then doubled his tally when he met Javier's pass to slot the ball into the net while at the other end, Edwin made a good save to deny the opposition from taking the lead once again. The opposition had a good shout for a third goal but the defence did enough to keep them out to secure a 2-2 draw. Team Dynamo line-up: Jaryl(GK), Yanto, Javier, Eugene, Kenneth, Calvin, Jun Wen, Dave, Jasper, Edwin, Hakim. Substitutes: Si Thu, Jia Chuan, Hiroki, Aaron, Shannon, Yong Lun.

Team Dynamo 3-3 AMG

SATURDAY, 23RD MAY 2009... In a rematch of last year's game, Team Dynamo ensured they came away from Jurong Junior College with at least something by securing a 3-3 draw against AMG. Javier returned to the team line-up after a long absence along with Kian Leong but a freak injury to Edwin before kick-off delayed his return. Team Dynamo took a surprise lead in the 15th minute from a corner kick which was met by Eugene's header at the far post but nearly conceded in the 26th minute as a shot by the opposition went just wide of the left-hand post of the goalkeeper. AMG continued to pile on the pressure and dominated possession, they were nearly rewarded in the 29th minute but their player's shot came off the crossbar. Team Dynamo doubled their lead in the 37th minute, with Jaryl slotting home from inside the penalty box after a long downfield ball. Both teams went into half-time with the score in favour of Team Dynamo. There were several changes at half-time for both sides as AMG reshuffled their players to try and pull themselves back into the game. The effect was instantaneous as their forward scored just 5 minutes after the break with a swerving left foot shot that went into the bottom corner. 12 minutes later, AMG equalized with a free-kick on the edge of the box that went straight into goal. 10 minutes from time, AMG completed their comeback as their forward was allowed to cut in from the right flank, who then ghosted past a defender and slotted home into the bottom near corner with yet another left foot strike. Team Dynamo piled men forward and got their reward in stoppage time when Aaron was brought down just outside the edge of the penalty box. Jaryl smashed the resultant free-kick into the 6-yard box which caused a huge goalmouth scramble, but Si Thu was on hand to poke the ball home though there was a penalty claim after a high boot by the opposition brought Eugene to ground. The late goal ensured both teams shared the spoils, though Team Dynamo threw away a precious 2-0 lead at half-time. The team will return to action next Saturday at Jurong Junior College again. Team Dynamo line-up: Kian Leong(GK), Dave, Javier, Eugene, Kenneth, Calvin, Jasper, Akmal, Jun Wen, Si Thu, Jaryl. Substitutes: Jia Chuan, Aaron, Yong Lun, Hiroki.

Team Dynamo 2-5 Team Elites

SUNDAY, 10th MAY 2009... After more than 2 months out, Team Dynamo returned yesterday to take on Team Elites at Yusof Ishak Secondary School. Spotting their new kit, Team Dynamo were able to field a pretty strong side but had to make do without goalkeepers Kian Leong and Redhwan. Unfortunately, the team crashed out to Team Elites 5-2, a harsher scoreline compared to the 2-0 loss last year. Both sides started out rather evenly but Team Elites scored twice in the first half to pull away. There were commendable efforts from the attacking quartet of Jun Wen, Jaryl, Jia Chuan and Calvin; Jaryl had a couple of shots which flew over the goal while Jun Wen had a close range effort hit the post. The latter though did pull one back before half-time with a shot that beat the goalkeeper, meaning both teams went into the break 2-1 in favour of Team Elites. The second half saw Team Dynamo try and pull themselves level but furthur goals from the opposition pegged them back. Mistakes in the defensive third proved costly as Team Dynamo paid the price; 5-1 was the score with two-thirds of the game already gone. Soon after, Jia Chuan replied for Team Dynamo with a precise close range effort after controlling a long ball chipped in from midfield by Si Thu. The goal was a little too late as Team Dynamo could only settle for a 5-2 defeat on their return. Being the first game since mid-February, it was commendable with the team having the luxury of picking from 16 players while the game also saw all the players had a decent run-out. The team will return to action in another 2 weeks' time on 23rd May 2009, Saturday. Furthur details to be confirmed. Team Dynamo line-up: Elijah(GK), Akmal, Eugene, Kenneth, Yanto, Dave, Jasper, Calvin, Jun Wen, Jia Chuan, Jaryl. Substitutes: Aaron, Yong Lun, Shannon, Wen Bin, Si Thu, Pravin.

Team Dynamo 1-3 Team Dotnet

Team Dynamo registered their second loss of the new year after going down to Team Dotnet at Mayflower Secondary School. The opposition took a shock lead through their forward who scored with an acrobatic bicycle kick before Wei Liang, playing in an advanced role in the absence of several key players, restored parity with a half-volley outside the penalty area. Team Dynamo were able to control the pace of the game but surprisingly went down by a goal again when miscommunication at the back allowed the opposition forward to tuck the ball under Kian Leong. The half-time score read 2-1 in favour of the opposition, but Team Dynamo fought back in the second period. Both teams played some flowing football but lacked the finishing infront of goal. With only one available substitute on the bench, Team Dynamo had to make do with what they have. With time running out, the team piled men forward and it was not surprising then to find goalkeeper Kian Leong going up for a corner kick to have a piece of the late action. Unfortunately, Team Dotnet were able to take advantage of Team Dynamo's lack of numbers at the back, capitalising on a quick counter-attack to secure victory for their team in the dying minutes. A match is being arranged for 14th February 2009(Saturday), 1pm at St. Wilfrid Sports Complex. Details to be confirmed. Team Dynamo line-up: Kian Leong(GK), Wei Liang, Eugene, Yanto, Kenneth, Yong Lun, Hiroki, Dave, Edwin, Aaron, Jaryl. Substitute: Jun Wen.

Team Dynamo 3-1 Jack Rovers FC

Team Dynamo secured a creditable 3-1 victory over Jack Rovers FC after first-half goals from Si Thu and Jaryl were enough to see the team through the game while midfielder Akmal also made his debut at the St. Wilfrid Sports Complex. Si Thu notched an early goal courtesy of a pass from Jaryl before the latter turned goalscorer when his shot from outside the penalty area crept past the goalkeeper. Si Thu added the team's third with a cool finish after he latched onto a through ball from midfield. Team Dynamo dominated first-half proceedings and went into half-time with a deserved 3-0 lead. The team made several changes during the break but were unable to add to the scoreline while Javier had to make a goal-line clearance. Jack Rovers pulled one back after their player half-volleyed the ball into the back of the net, but could not find a way through the defence later. The victory is the team's first win of the new year and hopefully many more will come. The team will take on Team Dotnet next Saturday, 31st January(Saturday), 3pm at Mayflower Secondary School. Team Dynamo line-up: Kian Leong(GK), Yanto, Eugene, Javier, Kenneth, Calvin, Dave, Akmal, Edwin, Si Thu, Jaryl. Substitutes: Jia Chuan, Yong Lun, Shannon.
